We hate to see you go, but know your next duty station calls!  If you are due a refund upon move out it is important to make sure that you provide an accurate forwarding mailing address before you leave.  Refund checks will be issued from the Corvias Accounting Department and will be sent via U.S mail to the mailing address provided.

It’s almost that time, back to school!  We all want to set our children up for a successful school year. Being prepared is the key to beating the new school year jitters. With a good night’s sleep and following these helpful tips you can successfully kick start this new school year.

Chances are, your child’s school will have plenty of volunteer opportunities, whether it’s visiting the school to give a presentation, or serving as a chaperone on a field trip. You will get a chance to meet other parents and potentially arrange those all-important extracurricular playdates.

KEEP YOUR PETS COOL

The extreme heat of summer has not shown signs of dissipating here at Seymour Johnson AFB. It's likely on those 100+ degree days you are more than a little uncomfortable. Imagine if you had a fur coat! So how do you keep your pet cool?

Here are some quick tips:

• Let them get a little wet
• Make your own cooling mat
• Provide plenty of water
• Keep them inside in the A/C
• Keep exercise short
• Do your research before giving them a haircut

Do you have a picky eater?  Some ways you can encourage healthier eating habits is to take your child along with you while grocery shopping, let them be involved in the shopping and the meal preparations. You can also teach them about the different food groups and how to read food labels. Encourage picky eaters to enjoy a wider variety of foods during your shopping trip. Let your child pick out the produce; it can be fun to let you them pick out the different fruits and veggies and maybe even try a few new ones.
